Lesson 6: Prickly Cactus (Second Grade)
In this lesson, you will create a textured 3-dimensional cactus using found objects and paint. **IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PAINT, YOU CAN USE ANY COLORING MATERIAL.
Remember, TEXTURE is the way something looks and feels. When painting, texture is made through details, such as lines, marks, and patterns. In art, 3-dimensional form has HEIGHT (tall), DEPTH (deep), LENGTH (wide). 3-D is the opposite of 2-D, which is FLAT.
2nd grade challenge: Create different shades of green paint by mixing green, white, black, yellow, blue for your cactus shapes. Also, paint or draw a pattern onto the cactus pot and add blooms to the cactus.
Next, follow the slide show below for step-by-step guidance. HAVE FUN CREATING and please share what you have created to my email: [email protected]
